Man stabs wife with screwdriver over loan

A father of one from Lagos State has been arraigned before a Badagry Magistrate's Court for allegedly stabbing his wife with a screwdriver.

According to a Punch report, Sunday Dennis was arraigned on charges of assault and threat to life after he allegedly stabbed his wife, Blessing, in the back with a screwdriver during an argument.

The couple is said to have been arguing over a loan when the incident occurred, following which Dennis threatened to kill her with the screwdriver.

The accused has since pleaded not guilty to the charges and been granted bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties in like sum.

The case has been adjourned to September 6.
