Angry mob set suspected armed robber ablazed
Angry mob at Isoko quarters in Warri South local government area of Delta state, have set ablaze a 21-year-old bus conductor named Ese, for allegedly being a member of a five man armed robbery gang terrorizing residents in the area.
The suspect who was said to have snatched a commercial bus belonging to a police officer along Enerhen road in Warri, met his untimely death after he was sighted at a bus stop by angry mob who hit him with blocks, before pouring petrol and setting him ablaze.
The jungle justice by the angry mob is coming after five suspects were last month burnt beyond recognition in Warri and Ughelli.
Condemning the act, the Vigilante chairman Warri unit said jungle justice should be discouraged.
Meanwhile, seven of the angry youths who carried out the burning of the suspect have been arrested by the police, while residents could not speak with journalists for fear of being arrested.
It will be recalled that the state police spokesperson Celestina Kalu had warned residents of the consequence in taking laws into their hands, while a governorship aspirant of the APC was also robbed in the area by suspected armed robbers.
